Today, what3words is proud to announce the completion of an investment by the SUBARU-SBI Innovation Fund.

More accurate than street addressing, easier to use than GPS coordinates and built for voice entry, what3words is experiencing rapid adoption across a wide range of sectors globally. Our system can be used in Mercedes-Benz, Ford and, from next year, Tata Motors vehicles. Ride-hailing apps Cabify and Japan’s S.Ride accept what3words to specify ride pick up and drop offs and logistics giants DB Schenker and Aramex all use the technology.

Chris Sheldrick, CEO and co-founder of what3words, adds, “We are excited to welcome Subaru to the what3words team. This latest investment will help to fuel our expansion into new markets including Japan, India and China where we are seeing significant growth”

Itaru Ueda, Manager of SUBARU-SBI Innovation Fund, comments on the announcement “what3words is an incredibly exciting company. We share their vision of a global address standard, and see the clear benefits of simple way to talk about location, not just in the automotive sector but far beyond.’
