Every year, millions of Muslims from all over the world gather together to perform Hajj. But for foreign visitors, getting lost on the way is a serious concern, especially amongst the large crowds.

To solve this problem, Saudi Post has launched the ‘Hajj & Umrah Navigator app’, which includes what3words location technology, to help pilgrims find their way around safely and easily. Every point of interest and useful location listed within the app – from religious services to tents and shops – is displayed with its 3 word address.

Pilgrims can also use the app to find each other more easily by sharing 3 word addresses for precise meeting points.

Importantly, this simpler and more precise way of communicating location will help emergency services locate people in need faster, helping everyone feel safer.

‘Now that The Saudi Post is integrating what3words, millions of pilgrims visiting Mecca and Medina for the first time will be able to find their way more easily, safely and securely’ – Chris Sheldrick, Co-founder and CEO, what3words.
The Hajj & Umrah Navigator app is available to download for both iOS and Android .
