what3words is revolutionising the way the world talks about location. Street addresses aren’t accurate enough to specify specific entrances, and they don’t exist for parks, rural areas and many parts of the world. This causes frustration, inefficiencies and can be dangerous.


That’s why we created what3words.


We have divided the globe into a grid of 3m x 3m squares, and given each one a unique combination of three words: a what3words address. It’s an easy way to find and share precise locations.

what3words is being used in 193 countries, and our monthly active users continue to grow at an impressive pace. Our tech is used by thousands of emergency services, delivery companies, eCommerce businesses, ride-hailing apps and NGOs, and is integrated into the navigation systems of millions of cars around the world.

The Role:

This role is all about supporting our biggest deals around the globe. You will be working with senior sales team members to close strategic deals that support the biggest deals they’re working on. You will be sourcing and closing very high deal volumes with SME businesses, in our key markets globally. We expect you to see this role as an entry point to the business - after proving yourself here for ~18 months we would expect to move you into a more challenging and impactful direct sales role, applying all you have learnt in that time. We don’t need any number of years or specific educational qualifications - we are much more interested in your raw talent, tenacity and creativity.

This role may sometimes include weekend travel and evening work, including attending events, networking and dinner engagements.


Whilst the role is highly demanding, it’s equally rewarding. Do expect long hours - and international travel opportunities may be expected. You’ll be expected to meet challenging targets, but you’ll reap the rewards of them too.

Requirements

  • Direct sales work - it’s okay if you haven’t done this before, but you’ll need to be a fast learner, with the confidence and creativity to succeed in this role
  • Support teams in strategic decision making through research, lead sourcing, data analysis and presentation
  • Create and present your own resources to enable the 360° sales process (e.g. decks)
  • Event set-up, attendance and management, including sourcing meetings beforehand and following up afterwards
  • Managing inbound enquiries and helping clients integrate what3words into their own products and services
  • Attending high-level meetings with senior team members, and managing the follow-up process
  • Assisting UK teams with lead generation, lead qualification and outbound sales work
  • Assisting in setup and delivery of pilots/POCs across verticals

You will be:

  • Extremely tech-savvy, with an excellent understanding of what3words
  • An exceptionally strong written communicator – you must have an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Able to produce resources of a very high standard (e.g. slide decks), in a short periods of time
  • An independent fast learner who can pick up from watching and participating rather than being taught
  • Flexible and excellent at adapting your behaviour to different situations – from high-level relationship management to administrative work – and cultural contexts
  • Ambitious and interested in building a long-term career with us
  • A team-player, motivated by working with a close-knit team and supporting colleagues in their work to drive the business forward
  • Highly organised, able to juggle a large workload and prioritise effectively
  • Incredibly proactive and intuitive, able to learn quickly to anticipate needs and understand what needs to be done without being told


You will have:

  • A degree from a top-tier university (though impressive experience from the university of life counts too)
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to interact with external and internal colleagues and manage stakeholder relationships inside and outside of the business
  • A common-sense approach
  • Exemplary planning and time-management skills
  • Discretion and diplomacy


Bonus points if you:

  • Speak multiple languages (especially those spoken in multiple geographies, such as French, Spanish, Arabic etc.)
  • Have any written code
  • Developed a product or idea from scratch
  • Have lived or worked abroad
  • Can start immediately
