Autumn has just started in the Northern Hemisphere, and while we would’ve loved a few more weeks of summer, there are a lot of things to look forward to this season. Our community recently shared some of its favourite places to revel in the beautiful red and yellow foliage. Here’s our top picks, to be enjoyed with a side of pumpkin pie.

Cosy up at the Trout Point Lodge

This luxury wilderness resort is hidden in the breathtaking UNESCO Nova Scotia Biosphere Reserve. It’s truly remote, so don’t be surprised by all the wildlife casually hanging out.

Have a pic(turesque)nic

There’s a wooden picnic bench with your name on it next to the octagon-shaped Edgecomb State Historic Site fort. Take in the spectacular autumnal views over the Sheepscot River or head to nearby Wiscasset, coined ‘Maine’s prettiest village.’

Do some Seoul-searching

We’ve got some autumn walk insider information, straight from Seoul: Sky Park is very popular with tourists, but that means lots of crowds. If you’re feeling introspective, venture to the lesser-known Nanji Stream Park, with its dazzling foliage and flower gardens.

Go hiking at Mitake Gorge

TimeOut Tokyo said it best: “Stick to the walking trails along the river banks. Postcard views of vivid red maple leaves and yellow ginkgo trees await, and for the perfect shot, make sure you have in your frame the majestic bridge that presides over the crystal clear Tama River. Do visit the nearby Gyokudo Art Museum for classic Japanese paintings before making the trip back to town.”

Fall asleep in a bed of leaves

The Treetops Treehouse is a multi-story palace right in the canopy of a beautiful old oak tree. Soak up the beautiful autumn colours from your giant copper bathtub. Aren’t you glad you’ve got a 3 word address to help you find it?
