Infoware provide professional navigation tools to organisations including BMW, Volkswagen and DHL. They specialise in helping companies get their people from point A to point B and then point C, D and E in the quickest and most efficient route possible.

Now, Infoware have taken their knowledge helping large organisations and have created the award winning MapTrip android app to empower individuals with the same intelligence.

But if the addresses of points A, B, C, D, or E are not precise enough that wealth of knowledge is useless. Street addressing is not universal and is often inaccurate in places like industrial parks or parts of the countryside. Search for a large company building and the location pin drops in the middle, nowhere near a front entrance or a delivery entrance. Often places have no street address at all: parks, solar installations, telephones exchanges or street furniture.

To solve this MapTrip have added 3 word addresses to their app.

what3words is the simplest way to talk about location. It has divided the world into 3m x 3m squares, each with a unique 3 word address. It means anyone can find any spot on the planet accurately and communicate it more quickly, more easily and with less ambiguity than any other system. Words can easily be remembered, written, said, printed or shared digitally.

MapTrip users can currently input 3 word addresses into the system and find the best route between them. It means that delivery drivers, tradespeople, engineers, bailiffs, or any businesses that have a mobile workforce who move from job to job, can do so easily.

“The last mile is hugely inefficient, for example it accounts for approximately 28% of the costs of a delivery. Much of this is down to poor addressing,” say Chris Sheldrick, CEO and co-founder of what3words. “Our integration with Infoware can save individuals companies a huge amount of time, money and frustration.”

A precise location combined with intelligent routing means that people can get to the right places in the most efficient way possible, saving businesses time and money.
