Our teams
Tech team
We transform ideas and caffeine into built products used by customers around the world. We make tools, technologies and resources to help businesses integrate with what3words, whatever platform they use, and we build the infrastructure for the rest of the company to succeed.
Marketing
We’re an in-house marketing team and creative studio that finds compelling ways to tell the what3words story and explain its benefits to the world. We believe in the simplicity of ideas, in having deep market and consumer insights that drive behaviour change, and in functional design.
Business development
Our BD team works with businesses around the world – from multinational car companies and logistics firms to thousands of SMEs using what3words to make their business more efficient. We also support emergency services and NGOs, providing technology and training so they can use what3words to improve and save lives.
Growth
The guardians of data and insight, we support all corners of the business. Using the company’s OKRs as our guide – we analyse, ideate and activate initiatives which drive highest impact in growing both our consumer and partner objectives.
Product
User champions and technologists at heart, we work on a variety of platforms and technologies to help make what3words available to our audiences around the world. We collaborate across the team to understand user needs and create exceptional experiences, carrying out user testing and experiments to drive our strategy.
Languages
We develop new localised versions of our core products, ensuring more people around the globe can easily use what3words addresses in their native language – and support growth by localising content into the languages required for users to discover and follow our progress.
Customer operations
We enjoy solving problems and figuring out the best way to serve people who get in touch with us. We cover CRM, Customer Services, Sales data, Billing and all the ways they interlink. We ensure that as what3words grows, all the ways we do things continue to work and are efficient for our scale.
Operations
We are the oil which keeps the company engine running – recruitment, HR, IT, culture, office management, company socials, internal comms, and everything in between. We help to drive a strong and supportive culture, now and in the future.
Finance
We are responsible for making sure the team has the financial resources and information they need to help the company deliver on its mission, whilst controlling the purse-strings! This covers everything from ensuring suppliers are paid on time, to preparing budgets, commercial analysis and long term forecasts, plus working closely with existing and potential investors.
Legal
The legal team removes obstacles that would otherwise impede the company’s growth, sometimes looking around corners to do so. We also negotiate complex agreements, protect and enhance our IP portfolio and navigate complex international regulatory issues.
