How to get the in-car app with what3words Pro

2. Open the app and scan the QR code using your mobile device

We’re working on bringing the what3words for Auto experience to as many vehicles as possible. If you’d like to get what3words for Auto in your vehicle, we recommend exploring the different methods for connection including Apply CarPlay and Android Auto, or if you prefer an in-car app, you could put in a request to your manufacturer or local dealership.

Before you start, you’ll first need to download the what3words for Auto app from your vehicle’s app store or Google Built In store, connect with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Via text entry (Android Auto, in-car app)

  1. Open what3words in your vehicle’s infotainment system
  2. Tap Search
  3. Type the what3words address for the location you’d like to navigate to
  4. Tap the correct result. The location will now be displayed on the map
  5. The select Navigate
  6. Follow the directions to your precise destination

Via Voice entry (Apple CarPlay only)

  1. Open what3words in your vehicle’s infotainment system
  2. Tap Search
  3. Speak the 3 words of the what3words address clearly
  4. Choose address from autosuggest
  5. The location will display on the map
  6. Then select Navigate and choose your map provider
  7. Follow the directions to your precise destination

Via AI Voice (in-car app only)

  1. Open what3words in your vehicle’s infotainment system
  2. Tap AI Voice
  3. Speak prompt that includes the what3words address for your destination, like: “ I want to navigate to proof since kite ”
  4. Tap the tick when you’ve finished speaking. The location will display on the map
  5. Then select Navigate
  6. Follow the directions to your precise destination
